The Swedish Workplace HIV/AIDS Program (SWHAP) has been a pillar for the work–life balance at Tamarind Translations. An emphasis on health and wellness explains our continued success as a team. Apart from physical, psychological, nutritional, financial and other individual issues, we focus on prevention and mitigation of HIV AIDS.
In March, our colleagues Laban Mahindu and Anne Mutiso attended a lively SWHAP network breakfast meeting at the Silver Springs Hotel in Nairobi. Among the organisers were the Federation of Kenya Employers and the International Labour Organization. In preparation for this breakfast meeting the “King of Condoms” visited our office. He engaged the team in a quick challenge – testing our knowledge on the use of the item. This lively session was facilitated by LVCT Health, a Kenyan NGO for HIV prevention.
At the event the winner of the monthly Pedometer Challenge for February 2017 was awarded. Our accountant, Nancy Nyaga, clocked an average of 10.000 steps a day. For wellness’ sake, that is literary going a long way to stay fit and healthy!
